The Kurome shadow domain was located in feudal Japan. Shadow ninja warriors formerly flourished in Kurome, but the once-pure inhabitants have been corrupted by their desire for wealth and power.

They expanded into other territories to amass more Shadow Ninja extraordinary power and brought gloom everywhere. Taguchi Sensei, a samurai fighter, disappeared after journeying to Kurome to stop corruption. In her quest to find Taguchi Sensei and prevent crime, youthful and courageous shadow hunter Ryuko enters Kurome.

In Kurome, this is its second plate form district. In the Creek Garden, Ryuko is attacked by additional shadow warriors. The hunter's castle is a haven the player may explore. In Creed Garden, the player squares up against the first hunter.
